Dan & Vicki Explore the Great Lakes, Canada & New
England – Venturing as far as Newfoundland
Heading across the north part of the
good old USA ~ Starting in Colorado ... Goal is Newfoundland. August to October 2016.
Last year, 2015,
we discovered that it is possible to engage on a long time, long distance trip ...
and not get hurt, scared, or tired of each other. We explored the NORTH WEST part
of the North American Continent ... Wyoming, Idaho, Canada, Alaska Canada Highway,
Yukon and Alaska. The 2015 part of this blog shares the exciting discoveries and
unique places we found on that trip at: http://danvickicoyotetravels.blogspot.com/2015/04/welcome-to-our-blog-why-coyote.html.
This year we are heading to the NORTH
EAST of North America ... starting with the exploration of all five Great Lakes
and then heading to Canada and the Maritimes (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland). Heading
south from there, awaits New England. And... who knows ... we don’t really plan
in detail.
We are leaving the
week of August 15, 2016. Sharing here the map of the trip plan ... anything can
alter this plan ... a bird to follow ... a sign that caught our attention ... a
day of rest in beauty ... even a suggestion from one of our friends who are following
us in this blog. Please do guide us along the way.
As we post new adventures, you can
receive updates by clicking on the "Get Email Updates" found on the right
side of this page. There are other options there also ... like "Share"
with anyone you think might also enjoy this.
Also ... if you have suggestions for
"off the beaten path" or "not to be missed" places in our travels
(click on our map), we would be very excited to hear about them.
Start of travels: Aug 16, 2016
End of travels: Oct 19, 2016
Strong is the Call
Strong is the yearning to just leave here and find
there. The unknown, the different, the unique, the surprising ... off the beaten
path ... following the call to explore. Colorado is beautiful and provides the warmth
and security of home. Our base says 'you belong'.
However, strong is the call to search
the unknown. Since our retirement, we have grown wings and flown. This will be our
second major trip worth writing about. So come along with us ... dream your dreams
... and share ours!
So ... leaving soon ... getting our
Coyote ready
"It
would be wonderful to think that the future is unknown and sort of surprising."
Alan Rickman
Our Mascot
Our RV is a 2008 Roadtrek 210 Popular. We call
it “The Coyote”. 24 feet long with the bikes on the back, we are ready for any road.
Why have we chosen Coyote for our theme, mascot and nickname for our Roadtrek RV?
Whimsy for sure, but there are a couple of reasons ... this fella represents tenacity,
determination and stubbornness. Surely, we are embracing his resilience and daring
as qualities for our trip. In addition, leaving home on such an adventure is a little
bit scary, so we are taking a part of it with us … our street name is Coyote.
