Here Comes The Sun

August 21, 2017, John Day, Oregon

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,And I say it's all right ... (George Harrison)

Why would one travel 1083 miles to sit in a fairgrounds of a tiny town to see a total solar eclipse? Because it is there! We joined with about 50 other people who own Roadtreks and we celebrated the sun ... a phenomena any moment of any day ... yet to witness the moon photobombing the sun enhances our appreciation of the gift of the sun. So pictures will only express the wonder of the day.
Picture taken with filter over cell phone camera.

See upper right quadrant of photo... tiny white dot ... Venus in the morning during totality

...took this shot without filter ... caused a reflection on right side of jet vapor trail.

 Arrived in John Day, Oregon

Small town is John Day, OR... but they have the charms of a small town. The other side of our RV is a small river ... lots of splashing and laughing sounds coming from there.
We're camping with 25 other Roadtreks of various ages and sizes. Lots of new friends!

Also found a fascinating Chinese Museum frozen in time from 1948. Great tour of this internationally famous site.
