Little Swan, Great Family, Barn Quilts

Sunday, August 21, 2016
Duluth, Minnesota, United States

As we followed the blue highways (yep, corn and soybeans forever) we discovered something strange .... many of the barns have large designs on them. We found out later they are called barn quilts and people go on roadtrips looking for them. There are websites and books and everything... any excuse to hit the road.

The Little Swan Lake Winery and Bed & Breakfast is a family owned winery and bed and breakfast in Iowa. WONDERFUL, The wine is very good and instead of one bottle, we bought three. The  B & B is a converted grain elevator (really!). But there's more, there are buffalo, a large lake (Little Swan Lake) and great hosts. All of the above are part of the winery including the lake and the buffalo. We enjoyed a warm visit with Scott and Diane and then spent the night by the buffalo corrals. (Full Disclosure, Scott is our son-in-law, Keith’s brother)

Pictures are the Winery from across Little Swan Lake, their buffalo at Little Swan Lake Winery, and where we stayed. In the picture you can see the front of our Coyote sticking out behind the large tree.

The next night we were honored to stay at the reeber. Some play time with grandsons, Duncan and Rowan. Thanks Keith and Jen !!!!

There is always something to collect, so this time we're collecting state welcome signs.  Nebraska with Vicki; Iowa with Coyote; Dan with Minnesota.

What We Discovered
Little Swan Lake Winery and Bed & Breakfast ~ 1350 320th Ave. Superior, Iowa
